Paraffin wax - Paraffin waxes

Paraffin waxes are transparent or white, solid, with a relatively low melting temperature (45-65 °C), shiny, brittle, forming large crystals. They are composed of normal unbranched hydrocarbons and minimum quantities of branched hydrocarbons.

Paraffin wax – applications

The main applications of paraffin waxes are: candle making, textile industry, woodworking, protective coatings, rubber and plastic products, packaging for the food industry, investment casting, cosmetics, etc.

Paraffin waxes are divided into semi-refined and fully refined depending on their oil content, as for paraffin wax with an oil content of less than 0.5% is considered to be fully refined.
